Your goals, future-self description, reflections and generated board are stored on your device. If you choose "Personalize with secure AI", the text needed to write a board is processed briefly by our generation service, OpenRouter, and the selected model provider, initially Google or OpenAI. We do not store generation prompts or generated text on our server. Photo pixels are never sent for generation.
You can optionally turn on iCloud backup in Settings. If you do, that same content is also stored in your own private iCloud account, under your Apple ID. It still does not reach us. We have no access to your iCloud data. This setting is off unless you turn it on.
If you choose to enable analytics, we collect anonymous usage events to understand which features people use. Analytics is off by default. Events never include the words you write or the content MyDirection generates, and you can withdraw consent in Settings.
MyDirection does not back up your content anywhere by default. If you enable "Back up to my iCloud" in Settings, Apple's CloudKit stores your content in the private database of your personal iCloud account so it survives losing or replacing your device, and so it appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple ID.
We are not a party to that storage and cannot read it. Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy govern it. Turning the setting off stops further syncing; to remove content already in iCloud, delete the app's data from within MyDirection, or manage iCloud storage in iOS Settings under your Apple ID.

This content remains stored on your device. If you choose secure AI personalization, limited text is transmitted for that generation request but is not retained as prompt history by MyDirection. Deleting the app removes local content. You can also erase everything from Settings → Privacy → Delete all my data.

"Personalize with secure AI" sends your goal, future-self description, journey preferences, selected reflections, weekly check-ins, recent daily-step choices and outcomes, evidence, and any photo labels or notes to our generation service, OpenRouter, and the selected model provider, initially Google or OpenAI. It does not send photo pixels. The service verifies access, enforces usage limits and routes the request to the selected model. MyDirection does not store prompts or generated text on its server. Requests are configured for no training and zero data retention and are routed only to processors that accept those settings.
"Keep it on this iPhone" uses Apple's on-device model when available and otherwise uses built-in offline templates. In that mode, your personal generation text is not sent to our generation service. You can change or withdraw this choice at any time in Settings.
If you choose to enable analytics, we use Mixpanel to collect anonymous product analytics: which features are used and whether purchases succeed or fail. Analytics is off by default.
Event-specific details contain enum values, counts and flags only. Examples include "reflection_submitted" and "paywall_viewed". Mixpanel also receives standard technical details such as app and OS version, device model, screen size and an anonymous device identifier. IP-based location enrichment is disabled. Events never contain your goal, reflections or generated text. We do not collect your name, email or precise location, and we do not sell data or use it for advertising.
You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → Privacy. Turning analytics off stops collection on your device.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple provides us with anonymous transaction status so the app knows whether your subscription is active. Apple's own privacy policy governs the payment itself.
When you ask Siri to read your affirmations, the request is handled by Apple's App Intents system on your device and the content is read from local storage. Apple's privacy policy covers Siri itself.
Widgets and the Apple Watch app read the same locally stored content. Content is sent to your Apple Watch directly from your iPhone using Apple's device-to-device connectivity. Those surfaces do not independently send generation requests.
MyDirection is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, if higher). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
You can export or delete your locally stored content at any time and can withdraw cloud AI permission in Settings. MyDirection does not keep prompt histories to retrieve or delete. Eligible new subscribers receive a three-day free trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it converts to the selected paid plan. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple and may vary by account. MyDirection does not offer a free tier.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase or when a free trial ends. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies; we cannot issue them.
Do not use MyDirection for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt, probe or reverse-engineer it. Do not enter content that is illegal or that infringes anyone else's rights.
You keep ownership of everything you write. If you choose secure AI personalization, you grant us and our contracted processors a limited licence to process the submitted text only to provide and protect the generation service. We do not claim ownership of it or keep prompt history. We cannot recover your locally stored content. Losing your device, or deleting the app without iCloud backup, may mean losing that content.
MyDirection is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at all times.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reconnect Digital Pty Ltd is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for MyDirection. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
