Follow your path
Most vision boards stay still. MyDirection pays attention to what lands, what changes and what you actually do, then writes tomorrow accordingly.
The day opens with a single line drawn from your board and one slow breath. It is short on purpose. A practice you can finish before the kettle boils is a practice you still have in week nine.
Then MyDirection asks for one step small enough to finish today, inside the life you already have. Not a plan for the person you intend to become, but a message you can send, an hour you can protect, a page you can write.
At night you record what happened and how aligned it felt. One tap is a complete reflection. A few sentences teach the board more. Both are valid, and neither is graded.
Your board fills with things that actually happened, like the reply that came back, the habit that held, the assumption that turned out to be wrong. Belief built on a record is sturdier than belief built on repetition.
You choose how your words are handled before you write a single one, and you can change that choice later. Your photos are never uploaded for generation, whichever mode you pick.
Your direction sits on the Lock Screen, the Home Screen and your wrist. Glanceable in three seconds, because the moment you need it is rarely the moment you are holding your phone.
A board that learns
Every line you respond to, every reflection you write and every piece of real evidence you log helps tomorrow's board sound more like you and less like a template. Read what makes a board adaptive.
Private by design
Privacy is a choice you make before you write anything. Keep generation on your device where supported, or turn on secure AI personalization when you want richer guidance shaped around your words. Photo images are never uploaded for generation either way, analytics is off until you enable it, and nothing you write is sold or used for advertising.
See exactly what each mode doesThe idea
A vision board is usually made in a burst of clarity. You collect the images, arrange them, feel the pull of the life they describe, and then the board becomes furniture. It does not know that you changed jobs in March, that the relationship you pictured ended, or that the goal you wrote in January now belongs to a person you no longer are. It cannot respond, because a collage has no way to receive information. The failure is not a lack of willpower on your part. It is a design problem. You built something static to guide a life that is not.
An adaptive board takes in three signals a static one cannot, namely which lines you respond to, what you actually did, and what you wrote afterwards. Those signals are ordinary (a tap, a completed step, a sentence at 9pm) but together they describe a direction more honestly than the goal you typed on day one. MyDirection uses them to decide what tomorrow's line says, which part of your vision to surface, and when to ask whether the goal itself still fits. The board stops being a picture of an imagined future and becomes a running account of the one you are building.
The loop has four parts and each does a different job. Attention decides what you notice before the day gets loud. Action converts noticing into something that leaves a trace. Reflection turns the trace into information you can use. Evidence accumulates into a reason to keep going that does not depend on how motivated you feel this morning. Skip any one and the practice degrades into something familiar, since attention alone is daydreaming, action alone is busywork, reflection alone is rumination, and evidence alone is a spreadsheet.
We will not tell you that picturing an outcome causes it. The research does not support it, and the claim does real harm. It converts ordinary setbacks into personal failures of belief. What the evidence does support is more modest and more usable, because people who make goals specific, pair intentions with concrete situations, contrast the desired future against present obstacles, and review progress regularly tend to follow through more often. That is the whole basis of MyDirection. It is a smaller promise, and it is one we can keep.
Everything you write here is the kind of thing you would tell a close friend, which is to say what you want, what you are afraid of and what did not go well. That content should not be the price of using an app. So MyDirection asks you to choose before you write anything, between private writing that keeps supported generation on your iPhone and secure AI personalization that sends the text needed to produce your guidance. Private writing is excellent and runs with no connection at all, though it does need recent hardware and a supported language, and not everyone has those, which is exactly why the second option exists rather than being an afterthought. Secure personalization works on any device, writes with more range, and sends requests with training disabled and zero retention, so nothing you write trains a model. Photo images are never uploaded for generation either way, analytics stays off until you switch it on, and nothing you write is sold or used for advertising. That is also why there is no free tier, since a subscription is a simpler and more honest way to fund an app than the alternatives.
Every wellbeing app you have abandoned was abandoned on a bad day. Not on the day you decided it was not for you, but on the ordinary Tuesday when you overslept, the week the deadline moved, the month everything went wrong at once. Those days are when a practice is tested, and a practice that needs a calm fifteen minutes is unavailable exactly then. So the constraint we designed against was not "what is the richest possible experience" but "what still happens on the worst realistic day." The answer turned out to be about a minute, long enough to read one line, take one breath and name one step. Everything else in the product is built to protect that minute rather than to expand it.
MyDirection asks for a single direction rather than a dashboard covering career, health, relationships, home and money. This annoys people at first and it is the constraint we are least willing to remove. Attention is the scarce resource in any goal practice, and a board that describes everything cannot tell you anything about today. Two directions produce two half-practices and an ambiguous step, and an ambiguous step is one you do not take. The narrower the direction, the more specific the daily line can be, and specificity is what separates guidance you act on from guidance you skim.
There is no streak counter, because a broken streak is a well-designed reason to quit and a missed day is just information. There is no AI image generation of your imagined future, because doing it well means sending a description of your private hopes to an image model, and because a slightly imperfect photograph you chose yourself carries recognition that a generated one cannot. There is no social feed, no sharing, no leaderboard. There is no free tier funded by advertising. Each of those is a growth feature we can name a reason for wanting, and each one would have changed what the app is for.
It is fair to ask why a board is involved at all, if the mechanism is really about specific goals and consistent action. The answer is that images do one job better than sentences, because they make an abstract direction recognisable. A goal held only as words is easy to postpone, easy to forget, and remarkably easy to quietly redefine when it becomes inconvenient. The same goal rendered as the actual street, the actual desk, the actual ordinary Tuesday is harder to blur. And when something relevant appears in your week (a conversation, a listing, an opening) you are more likely to notice that it is relevant. That is the whole contribution, and it is enough to build on. What imagery cannot do is replace the decision, which is why the board is one part of the loop rather than the product.
If you want a beautiful collage to print or share, a dedicated board builder will do it better. If you want guided meditations or narrated audio, this is a minute of text and breath rather than an audio programme. If you want a full journal with tags, search and long entries, our reflection is deliberately short. If you are on Android, there is no version and the on-device model, widgets and Watch app do not port. And if you need something free, MyDirection is a paid subscription with a 3-day trial. We would rather tell you that here than after you have subscribed.
Belief maintained by repetition is fragile, because repetition adds no new information. The hundredth reading of an affirmation is no more convincing than the first, which is why people who rely on them tend to need them more and more often. A record of things that actually happened works differently. Eleven specific entries (the reply that came back, the habit that held, the assumption that turned out to be wrong) are hard to argue with, because you wrote them and they are checkable. That is why MyDirection collects evidence rather than streaks, and why the log deliberately includes the things that did not work. A record containing only wins is a highlight reel, and highlight reels are useless for making decisions.
The board cannot respond to a mood. It can respond to what you actually did and what you wrote about it, which is why the evening entry is the load-bearing part of the whole design rather than a nice extra. It is also the part most likely to be skipped, so the minimum version is deliberately trivial, so one tap is a complete, valid reflection. Writing a sentence teaches the board more, and on the days that is available it changes what tomorrow says. On the days it is not, the loop still closes. A practice that only produces signal when you are feeling articulate will stop producing signal in exactly the weeks the signal would have been most useful.
The number comes from habit research on how long everyday behaviours took to become automatic. A median of about two months, with a range from under three weeks to well past half a year. It is a median, not a law, and anyone selling you twenty-one days as a rule is quoting a self-help book rather than a study. We use it as a frame, not a promise. Sixty-six days is roughly how long it takes for a pattern to appear in your own reflections, which is the thing an adaptive board needs before it can do anything interesting. Nothing expires at day sixty-seven. The practice continues, with a board that now contains three months of your own evidence.

MyDirection is a manifestation and vision board app for iPhone and Apple Watch. It combines two things most apps separate, an adaptive vision board built from your own imagery and a manifestation practice you actually run each day. One line to focus on, one step to take, one short reflection. Those reflections change what it shows you next.

No. MyDirection has no free tier and shows no ads. The 3-day trial gives you full access so you can complete the whole loop (focus, action, reflection, evidence) before you decide. We would rather be honest about being a paid product than sell your writing to fund a free one.
Every day follows the same rhythm of focusing for a minute, taking one aligned step and reflecting in the evening. Sixty-six days is long enough for a pattern to appear in your own reflections, which is what the board adapts to. You are not locked in. You can change your goal, your tone or your pace whenever they stop fitting.
The guided practice takes about a minute. The step happens inside your day rather than on top of it. The evening reflection can be a single tap. Most days total under three minutes of screen time, which is deliberate. A practice that needs a spare half hour is a practice you abandon.
You choose between private writing, which keeps supported generation on your iPhone, and secure AI personalization, which sends the text needed to write your guidance to our generation service. Both work well and neither is the reduced version. Photo images are never uploaded for generation in either mode, no model is trained on what you write in either mode, analytics is off unless you turn it on, and nothing you write is sold or used for advertising.
Yes. Private writing can use Apple's on-device model where your device supports it, and built-in templates keep the daily practice working when generation is unavailable. Your board, your reflections and your evidence are stored on your device and readable without a connection.
Yes. MyDirection includes an Apple Watch app, complications and iPhone widgets, so today's line and today's step stay visible without opening anything. You can log a quick signal from your wrist and write the fuller reflection later on iPhone.
Yes, and changing it is treated as information rather than failure. A direction you have outgrown produces reflections that say so, and the honest response is to update the board. Nothing resets your history when you do.
Not in the sense of thought alone causing external events. No credible evidence supports that, and MyDirection does not claim it. What is better supported is narrower and more useful, because specific goals, implementation intentions, mental contrasting and consistent reflection help people notice opportunities and follow through. MyDirection is built on that narrower claim.
